A Wavelength of Love

I dreamt we were in love

Then I woke up

I couldn’t remember a single thing

Not how your eyes crinkled at the corners when you smiled

Not how your mouth curved when you said my name

Not how fresh you smelled after a shower

Not even the way you looked at me

I dreamt we were in love

Then I thought I woke up

I couldn’t picture a single thing

Not how strangers would walk by me and smile

Not how the city sparkled right after the rain

Not how the sun’s rays glistened and warmed

Not even the way the air smelled

I dreamt we were in love

Somehow my frequencies were mixed up

I must’ve connected the wrong wire

Bounced off the wrong tower

Because before I fell asleep

I was the successive crest on a wavelength of love.
