Poetically Human

All Monsters Are Human

Author: poeticallyhuman

My name is Tedra. I’m a poet and a writer in some aspects. My blog is a place where my writing won't sit and collect dust. I chose the name poetically human because I am obsessive, cautious, a lover of silence, joyful, oblivious, and curious, and I present that side of myself through paper and pen. It is a complete representation of me as a human being and the best part: I have no rubric to follow. And now I’m sharing it all with you.

Three Words In Disguise

Posted on December 14, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Love, Poetry, Relationships

Hey love! Are you okay? You look amazing! How was you day? Did you get enough sleep? Do you need any money? Have you had anything to eat? You want to talk about it, honey? I’m here if you need me. I just wanted to hang with you. I’ve missed these conversations. Seeing you is … Continue reading Three Words In Disguise →

My Favorite Person

Posted on November 24, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Friends, Relationships, Story

I hope you're okay An image of you fluttered by In my head Your blue eyes Your hair Either unkempt with a clip Or your signature ponytail Both dirty blonde You were always soft spoken But your laugh A soft, yet louder boom One often heard As we watched American Horror Story In your living … Continue reading My Favorite Person →

Toxicity Alone

Posted on November 3, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Relationships

I could never pinpoint it, but I knew exactly when it changed. I always felt it coming, but of course, I tried to guard it once it came. There is always a point where you realize that the waste is what you lay in, but the poison is what you soak in. I could never … Continue reading Toxicity Alone →

10pm In Deep Thought

Posted on October 28, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Poetry

Guard up Guard down You’ve become somewhat of a trigger now I reminisce and get anxiety  I find your letters and dissociate quietly Always too hesitant to leave But dumb enough to fall laterally Shit like that is the reason I need therapy Lack of security leaves defenses low Left with paper machete doors with … Continue reading 10pm In Deep Thought →

Ranty Rant

Posted on October 28, 2020October 28, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Humorous, Story

Let me just sit this right here: "Well I see the conversation is getting shorter by the days. And I don't want to waist my time or yours."--Someone who uses homophones interchangeably Now...this here is partly the reason why my peers are ridiculous. Because in order to waste time with somebody, you have to actaully … Continue reading Ranty Rant →

(Not So) Random Obsessive Thought

Posted on October 10, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Mind, Uncategorized

I wonder what your face looks like in person. I mean, I've seen it, but it's a whole other thing in person. It's social cues, real eye contact, stolen glances. All of the things that hit different when you're face to face, not facetime to paused. It's subtlties and mannerisms that a picture could never … Continue reading (Not So) Random Obsessive Thought →

Still

I tried to love you under the radar I was unsuccessful even then Depsite failing myself humiliatingly I convinced them the truth was what I knew was pretend I stayed up many countless nights Counting the silhouettes of stars on my ceiling And in the end I found myself wondering About all the possible things … Continue reading Still →

I honestly don’t know how to name this Sitting, staring at a painting on the wall, I noticed the beauty of it hanging there. How gracefully, slanted the words were written and I thought: they look beautiful. Plastic canvas cover reused to create a flower laid upon the top entwined and beaded with beauty. Yet, … Continue reading … →

Twin Considerate

Posted on September 2, 2020 by poeticallyhuman in Living Emotion, Poetry

We had a talk this afternoon About the expectations I had How he was glad to see me moving on But happy to see it ended bad He was arrogant as usual Not far from a chauvinistic pig Had the audacity to bring up size Told me not everyone could be as big He implied … Continue reading Twin Considerate →
